The concept of advertising is tightly interlaced with the concept of American Dream. As far as American society commence to develop and became more urbanized, more complicated, and more dominated by enormous bureaucracies. The old American Dream seemed endangered. Advertisers may only have vaguely perceived the intense alterations America was experiencing. Nevertheless, the advertising they created is a fantastically striking evidence of the fundamental suppositions and altering ideals in American culture. There is still another characteristic of advertising called ubiquity. In other words it is a possibility to use all the media to get all sorts of information to everybody everywhere.
It is true that nowadays it is impossible to see in one’s mind’s eye American society devoid of advertising. We cannot argue the fact that advertising became a determiner of people’s self-image. All things concerned advertising is a positive force in any liberated society. Protected by the First Amendment of American Constitution, it informs the community, encourages competition, fuels economic growth, generates new jobs and cultivates a wide range of media choices for consumers.
