Verona, Italy Yesterday, Mercutio Escalus and Tybalt Capulet lay down dead in Verona. The brutal quarrel involved Tybalt, Mercutio, and Romeo. It appears that Tybalt killed Mercutio and Romeo killed Tybalt in revenge. The citizens were shocked to hear this news, as they are coping with this latest incident. Benvolio Montague, an eye witness, declares that Tybalt started the fight. Tybalt was not fond of Romeo and has always wanted to fight him. Romeo did not want to duel with Tybalt which made Mercutio stand in Romeo’s place and fight. Mercutio is killed and dies. A witness said, “Tybalt was stunned to find blood on his sword, so he and his men ran away. Mercutio often joked around so it took me and our mates some time to notice he was in pain. ” After knowing that his friend died because of him, Romeo finds himself guilty and angry. Romeo felt the need to avenge Mercutio’s death. When Tybalt came back, they fought for a short period of time until Romeo eventually kills Tybalt with outrage. Romeo attempting to stop the fight between Mercutio and Tybalt.The Prince arrives at the scene shortly after Romeo kills Tybalt Capulet. Along with Lord Montague, Capulet, and their wives. After listening to the Capulet and Montague dispute, the prince comes to a conclusion that Romeo’s punishment was not to be killed. However, he was to be banished from Verona from then on. With no consequences, anyone could kill him if seen in the city again. The Montague and Capulet households are reported to be suffering in sadness and threatening revenge. Could this feud lead to even more violence?
