concern. The estimated 236,600 people living with DM in Ireland account for a DM-related
annual expenditure of over €4,800 per person. One such complication which is of
significant concern for people living with DM is the development of chronic
foot ulcers, as well as the impairment in wound healing that is associated with
chronic wounds
