This
research article has given me the strength to continue my research on
self-efficacy further. I really like this article as it is almost similar to
the research paper that I am embarking currently. When I was reading it, many
inspirations revealed that I am going on the right path and providing huge
success with its research outcome. After reading many pieces of advice and
knowledge shared from previous researchers, I find these two researchers are
very keen to help their community, Saad (2013) and Jabbour (2012) strongly
believe the use of ICT can enhance the knowledge of their people and younger
generation either in educational or cultural advancement. The use of ICT
gadgets can assist in many learning ways to engage learners to expand their
learning environment and self- efficacy. Based on Cornu (2010), he stated that
strong and strategical plans can be used in place to strengthen the use of ICT
in Education industries to help their community. This research paper was done
by Kazan and his research team to find out the coherent between teachers’
learning self- efficacy and students’ academic performance towards the use of
ICT in the inclusive learning center. Two groups of target audience were
selected, seven science teachers were chosen and segregated into modified group
one with ICT training and group two for non ICT based learning teachers.
Researches were carried out in four different schools with lesson observation
and modified lesson plans. Data analysis was done using Computer Attitude
Survey (CAS), Computer Technology Integration Survey (CTI) and Pre-service
Teacher Technology Integrated Survey (PTTIS) as well as Students Academic
Comparison of Exam 1 and 2 in semester 1.

Kazan
and his research team have successfully executed their mean and gathered valid
data without flaws by proving that teachers with the strong technological
background, positive self-efficacy contributed positively to students’ academic
performance in the inclusive learning center. They strongly advocated that
teachers who went through integrated ICT training who have higher self-efficacy
can provide better students’ academic performance compared to those teachers
who were not trained in ICT. Kazan and his team also believe that teachers’
confidence level increased and knowledge towards the lesson matters can
influence better on students’ academic performance directly. The energy that
they brought into class makes a lot of difference. Nevertheless, students’
participation and motivation in class has increased tremendously compared to the
students from non ICT trained teachers.

However,
many considerations were done to ensure the success of this research such as
the new leadership which approved his team to work on ICT integration for
science teachers from four different schools. The school’s management also has
contributed the significant role in this research by allowing more ICT based
activities to be carried out in their schools to further enrich the
conventional teaching methodologies and teaching pedagogies. Further
suggestions of a mixed measurement of different subjects can be done instead of
science, they also mentioned that more ICT related knowledge and computer
accessibilities can be done much better in the future to smoothen the ICT
training process and efficient lesson delivery.

After
reading this research article, I discovered that it has enlightened me on how
to analyse my data collection and carry out the right research methodology.
Though it was done by school science teachers but I truly believe it can apply
to our school and capable of modifying the way we deliver the lesson,
especially in more engaging and creative ways. With ICT integration in
academic, students surely will benefit more and help them to cope with the
reality in the learning and working world. It also able to provide more authentic
learning experience without stepping out from the classroom and enable to save
more time to know more on screen and gain more insight of the lesson which only
can be done indoors. I also feel that the practice can be applied to our
special needs learners and their educators to be more aware of their compassion
for learning and contributing to Singapore society. No more time wastage or
downtime in the lesson and every minute will be used wisely and added value to
all our special needs students. The matters that came to my thought will be how
I can convince our leaders and management team to advocate this success story
and research outcome to prove it is worth investing and the result is
ultimately impressive. There are many ground works needed to carry out and I am
alone in this field, many trustees and believers have to step in to ensure this
implementation can do successfully.
